Howdy

It's Monday again! We had a rather hectic weekend.

I had to work on Friday and I'm supposed to have my flex Friday off this week, but alas, I need to be in Harrisonburg on Friday for a training, sucks! But I'm off on Monday. :)

Saturday I did my run on the treadmill, and while I was running, I let Matthew walk around in his walker in my office. He's a total stitch in that thing, and so proud of himself when he actually takes a couple of steps forward. He laughs and giggles like crazy. What a hoot.

After we got showered, had lunch, and Matthew took his afternoon nap, I packed him into the SUV (which now has a current inspection sticker!!) and went to Regency Square. I have not been there in a while. It seems everything now revolves around Short Pump Towne Center, and I still like Regency, especially when it's cold and rainy outside. The weather sucked this weekend! Rain, sun, rain, it just couldn't make up its mind, it seemed like Florida weather to me.

Anyway, I went to the baby department at Macy's because it's getting colder and I knew I needed to get Matthew some warmer clothes. So I spent $50 on the little guy and got about 6 outfits. He'll look really cute in them as the time gets here. I washed all of them yesterday so they are ready to wear. I also got him a little coat to keep him warm. His days of being covered by a blanket in his carrier are over. He's getting so big! I then went to my department at Macy's and found some pants that I LOVE. I didn't get them yet, but will. Imagine my surprise when I fit into a size 6! WOOHOO! They need to be hemmed, but Mom said she'd do that for me. Thank God I have a mom who sews!

I then went by to visit my parents briefly with Matthew and nursed him. He had so much fun at the mall looking around and talking, but he hadn't eaten, so I needed to find a place to do what I needed to do. Thank goodness for mom and dad's.

Sunday we went to church, and then spent our lunch time with our new minister. We went out to lunch at Tripp's. This is one of my favorite places to go, and I got a cheeseburger. I figured I deserved it after all the running I do. John and our guests got brunch food :) While we were there, Matthew was hollering and happy with delight, and these two old bats kept giving us dirty looks. I should have stuck my tongue out at them, he's a happy baby and they should rejoice in that instead of being so critical. Next time, I'm sticking my tongue out at them :)

We then went to Babies R Us to get Matthew a new car seat. It's the end of an era. :( The salesman was trying to get us to buy this more expensive brand, but I checked on Consumer Reports and this one is top notch and for only $60. I can't believe that some car seats are over $300, holy crap!

Anyway, we came home, Matthew was fussy from no nap and overstimulation at the restaurant, but he would not nap. We finally got him down at 6, only to have the dumb doorbell ring. He screamed for I had him in the bouncer downstairs. It was our new deacon paying a nice church visit. I don't mind you visiting, just CALL first. I was so embarrassed, all my flowers out front are dead, and I need to plant some fall plants, but just have NO time. I'm determined, since I have a 3 day weekend, to take some time to get some new flowers out and get those windows washed.

We had a rough night last night, no nap equals poor sleep pattern for Matthew, and so I'm whipped today. I have a rough week this week and am heading to Caroline today for a technology training and then home. I'm going to talk fast so I can get out of there, lol.

Hugs and will keep you posted. This is a picture of Matthew actually giving John kisses, but as soon as he saw the camera he looked at it and smiled, big HAM!

Were you off work today? We could have met for lunch!

I know what you mean about car seats. We did spend $300 on an Eddie Bauer carseat for Griffin, but he can use it until I think it said 100 pounds. But really, how are you gonna get a 100 pound kid in a carseat? LOL!!

You've had a busy week(end) ... hope Matthew is back on schedule soon!

I love your new background!
