Busy weekend...

Well I'm back at work. I enjoyed several days off. I actually took a "sick" day yesterday. I truly wasn't feeling well, my stomach was a wreck. I didn't sleep well Sunday night as well, so I decided to take a sick day.

Friday, my mom and I went to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens for lunch at the Tea Room there. It was okay, nothing spectacular. We were originally going to go to the airport to each lunch at the Applebee's there and watch the airplanes, but she changed her mind at the last minute. Trust me, lunch at the airport would have been more interesting and better tasting. Mom got some open faced shrimp sandwich which didn't look too bad, and I got a ham sandwich with cheese drizzled all over it. It had some high falluting French name to it. I enjoy going to a restaurant where it's not prissy and snobby, I like being me, and not someone others want me to be.

We did enjoy each other's company and chatted "baby" talk for a while. We also went to Kohl's and I bought one maternity top. I look like a damn cow in the thing. I know, I know, I'll eventually grow into it. We also took a trip to Costco, because I LOVE their frozen yogurt there. You get this huge cup for $1.25, and it rocks. It's nonfat too :)

EWWW, I totally forgot, we saw the heartbeat for the first time on Thursday at our first doctor's appointment. I was sobbing my eyes out. This little miracle is inside of me growing and will be a baby all but too soon. I'll attach a picture of the ultrasound, it was truly spectacular.

On Saturday, I did aerobics, Cheryl taught a step aerobics class and we really enjoyed it (baby too). I walked then for about 45 minutes and ran into a few neighbors at the Goochland YMCA and talked to them about being pregnant, etc. I kind of relaxed the rest of the day, and then John and I took off to a friend's house to enjoy dinner. We hung out on the patio, I thought I may get too warm being pregnant, but I didn't. The food and company were great. Crawford, John's buddy and groomsman, and his wife were spectacular hosts. It's nice getting away from Goochland occasionally and head to another part of Virginia to visit with your friends :)

Sunday we did church and I was lazy the rest of the day. Well, sort of lazy....I did do laundry and ironed about 3 loads of clothes. I raided my jumpers so that I'll have something to grow into. I'm not ready for those maternity clothes yet, by a long shot! I wanted to go to the Y and walk, but just didn't have the energy. I did go to aerobics last night, despite my "sick" day off.

God bless all of you and continue to keep us in your prayers as we will be going through some genetic/chromosonal testing here soon.

Congratulations Cindy & John. We wish you all the best and a beautiful, healthy baby in February!

We don't have to tell you, but will anyway. Take lots and lots of pictures. The baby will grow so fast you'll cherish them much sooner than you think.
